Itinerary

Day 1: Alt Empordà – Peralada Castle   

Arrival at the hotel to check-in and enjoy the sun and beaches of l'Empordà. At sunset, we will go to Peralada, one of the best-preserved medieval towns on the Costa Brava to find the magnificent Peralada Castle. Original from the s. XIV, is an important and artistically difficult complex, testimony of the extensions of the late Middle Ages, motivated by the destruction of Peralada and the previous fortress in 1285. With a guided visit we will go to the "Wine Museum", "Museum of Glass”, "The Library" and "The Cloister". Once the visit is finished, we will enjoy a glass of Cava of its splendid vintages. We can have dinner at any of the magnificent restaurants that you will find in town. Accommodation at the hotel.

Day 2: Alt Empordà – Supper between vineyards

Breakfast at the hotel. Free day to enjoy the sun, the beach or visit one of the wonderful towns of l'Empordà. At dust, we will live the experience of visiting an authentic winery of l'Empordà. You will be immersed in a unique landscape of vineyards and centuries-old olive trees. After a walk through the vineyards and olive trees, you will discover how the precious wine is obtained from the grapes. Come to this little corner of l'Empordà by the hand of people committed to their land. They will make you feel their passion for this place touched by La Tramontana. Next, we will enjoy a dinner between vineyards along with a good Empordà CO wine while the Mediterranean Sea breeze caresses us. Hotel accommodation.

Day 3: Alt Empordà – Oil and chocolate tasting

Breakfast at the hotel and free day to enjoy the sun, the beaches or visit one of the magnificent towns of l'Empordà. In the evening, we will go to Púbol for a guided visit to what was the last place where Gala, wife and muse of the great Empordà painter Salvador Dalí lived; a very significant place for Dalinian creations. Then, in Corça, we will find a Tull (oil mill) to enjoy an explanatory visit accessing the work area and seeing up close the entire process of preparing the oil, ground with stone and which is the only mill that still produces with this system. Once the visit is over, we will enter a room where an explanatory video is played, and we will do an oil tasting with coca bread made with firewood, olive, groves and chocolate. This is a time to relax in the room and extend it as long as you want, asking questions, enjoying the tasting. Free dinner and accommodation at the hotel.

Day 4: Alt Empordà – Cap de Creus

Breakfast at the hotel. Free day to enjoy the sun, the beach or visit one of the wonderful towns of l'Empordà. In the evening, we will go to Cap de Creus Natural Park, a space of great beauty, endowed with a unique geological configuration, with structures and outcrops that form a special complex in the world. The effect of the northern wind has caused whimsical forms of erosion to appear and has transformed the landscape in a very special way. However, before that, we will visit a winery of with Empordà CO, including a guided tour and a tasting of its wines. Upon arrival at Cap de Creus, we recommend you to go a short walk through this place to the magnificent Cova de l’infern. Afterwards, it will be time to enjoy a beautiful sunset while dining at the restaurant. Hotel accommodation.

Day 5: Alt Empordà - Origin

Breakfast at the hotel and check-out. Today in the morning we will go to l’Escala, where we will take a boat along Montgri Coast and observe its amazing caves and coves. Among others, the Smuggling Cave, Punta Montgó - with its 16th century tower- and Cala Farriol, until reaching the natural tunnel of La Foradada. On the way back, we will make a stop to take a bath in one of these coves from the boat itself. It has stairs and a platform to access the sea. Return to the L'Escala’s harbour and end of our services.
